Come Thou Fount

I sang Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing in church today and I had Ander record it. I know you really shouldn't do that in church, and the recording isn't the best, but I couldn't help it. I sound so much like my mom, it's astounding.

Thank you for such an amazing gift, mom.

I am so grateful that I am the type of person that gets goosebumps when I hear good music. I wouldn't have it any other way. I think my skin has special receptors that are activated when I hear powerful music. I don't think everyone has that. Thank goodness I have that skin...

The most unbelievable thing I've ever heard a client say:

I had a younger client today... I'm guessing she is about 20. She nannies for another client of mine who I absolutely adore.

Anyway,

I know we have all heard the grammar butcherings of certain words or phrases. For your enjoyment, I've come up with a few I know you'll like:
"I guess I really took that for granite."
"I expecially love that one!'
"Whenever I was at the store the other day,"
"That's to funny!"
"Out team won because we pulled a complete 360,"
"That bugs me alot."

This younger client was telling me about staying at a her grandparents' ranch. Apparently, her cousin was there with her baby, and the baby was in a Pack 'n' Play. You know, one of these?
Anyway, my client told me that she saw some mice at this ranch, and what came out of her mouth literally almost made me drop my tweezers:
"Yeah, I kept seeing these mice. And what really mindblowed me was that one of them was crawling on the Park 'n' Play!! Can you believe that? That's disgusting."

.....
....
...
..

MINDBLOWED??
Mindblowed.

Not to mention she called the Pak 'n' Play a PARK 'n' Play.

She also said in a different story about finding a huge spider in her dorm, " I realized I just had to bulk up and kill it myself."
Yup. I bulk up to kill spiders too.

That's all folks, I think I've officially heard the worst. Never in my life have I been so horrified by a word butchering. I'll take expecially over mindblowed any day.

El Libro de Mormon

I have a Mormon confession:

I have never read the Book of Mormon

I have been a member of the Mormon church all of my life, and I have never read through that book. How is that possible?

Well, I finally decided to read it, like REALLY read it all the way through. That was a month ago. And I'm in Alma. Alma chapter 4.

Woo!

And I've come to find something...

Alma the younger when I was little:

Alma the younger in my 26 year old brain:

Well done, BoM. Well done.

Guess who showed up on my Pandora station the other day?

My Mom!!!!! We were listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Pandora station and her version of Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing came up! She did this song with a group called Fiddlesticks. Doesn't she sound lovely? I had to stop recording because I was starting to cry. Sorry for the abrupt cut off...

Sweet dreams

Ander and I finally bought a new bed. A brand new Tempur-pedic memory foam bed. Cloud Luxe to be exact. This was the final trade-off for Ander's new boat.

And I could not be happier!

We still have to break it in, because memory foam mattresses start out on the firm side, but it's getting softer by the day and I am in love with it. After it's all broken in it will be so incredibly soft, I can't wait!  The very best part about it is I can't feel Ander move around at night at all. I can hardly even feel May-May jump on the bed! It's wonderful. It's the nicest thing I've ever owned... and that includes cars.

Ander and I have been married for over six years now. SIX YEARS and we have never once had a headboard. So naturally I had to change that. I had started making this headboard before we got the new bed... amazing how that works out. I found the tutorial here (yes, I found it on Pinterest!) and it was pretty easy. Hers looks way better than mine, but I think her fabric choice was better. I chose a deep purple to go with our green duvet, and the duvet is really busy. I didn't want to have a busy headboard and a busy duvet. I'm quite pleased with it! Especially since it's my first one I've ever made!

My next project will be our bathroom. I guess it's not much of a project, really. I just need new rugs and a new shower curtain. I'll have to make the curtain though. I have some pretty exciting ideas! You know me, I always have to have SOMETHING crafty to work on.
