Blast from the Past: July 29th 2000

July 29th 2000

"Uncle Carl, Olivia, and Alexis are leaving tonight. Katie wanted to go to Covent Garden, but mom wanted to go to St. Paul's church, and I slept in. Mom got mad at me for it. She said, "My dad is screwed up because you slept in." I started to cry, and she said sorry, but it didn't help much. We did end up going to the all amazing St. Paul's Church, which was beautiful. I also saw some cute guys. We stayed there for an hour and a half, then headed to Covent Garden. There weren't great acts and it was so crowded and trashed! But Mom and I found a cool tye-dye shop and got matching overalls with cool suns designed on them. They are really cool looking. When we were waiting for the subway to go home, a policeman was walking toward us telling us to evacuate! I got a little scared, I didn't know what was happening. It was really hot and finally we got outside. We had to walk 15 minutes to Picadilly Circus, which pretty much everybody went to also. Finally we got into the subway and home. Carl and them had gone to the Tower of London and said there were no lines at all! So they got to see the Crown Jewels three times! I was jealous. Finally 6:00 came and they left. I was so glad because I was tired of hearing Lex moaning and complaining about Ralphie and everything we did. We are leaving tomorrow to Windemeir. I'm glad we are leaving London."

You must remember that at this point in our trip we've all been around each other 24 hours a day seven days a week for a month a a half. Tempers were starting to rise and patience was beginning to wear thin. We all snapped at each other every once in a while. Frankly, I'm surprised we all made it out of that trip alive. We got along pretty well for the most part!

I don't remember this whole evacuation situation at all. It sounds kind of scary... luckily we were all alright.

Yes, Lex kept moaning about how much she missed her boyfriend, Ralphie, and Olivia whined about everything, so we were all most happy to say goodbye.
