Blast from the Past: July 7th, 2000

July 7th, 2000:

"We went to the zoo and it's called Artis. It was very cool. In the beginning there were open cages with parrots on these trees. We saw the monkeys first. I love monkeys! I'm going to get one when I grow up. Anyway, then we looked at the reptiles. There were cool. This zoo has much more than the Hogle. After the reptiles we saw the big cats. Those were neat too. We kind of skipped afound after that. Oh, we also saw Insectopia. They had all kinds of live bugs! The Hogle Zoo doesn't take that much to show you REAL LIVE insects. Everything from Stickbugs, to leaf cutter ants. It was pretty cool!"

The Hogle Zoo is the Salt Lake City Zoo and I do remember this zoo being the cooler one of the two. I mean, let's be honest. REAL LIVE bugs? You just don't get the real zoo experience unless they take the time to show you REAL LIVE bugs.

I totally fulfilled my goal. I grew up and got myself a monkey. I got a dog too..... :)
