A Little Change in the Weather

We finally got a little bit of rain the other day, and it came down HARD! It only lasted about 20 minutes, but in this drought every little bit helps. I don't know how well you can see in the picture above, but it was absolutely pouring!
Of course once it starting pouring outside May-May begins to ring her potty bell non-stop. Thinking she'd reconsider if I showed her what it looked like outside I opened the front door and said, "You really want to go out in that?" Apparently, she did. She bolted out the door. Now, she wasn't on a leash, but I knew she wouldn't go far. Instead she decided to challenge the kids that live next to us that were out there standing around with towels on their heads. It was great.
Cute little Brianna chased May-May around for a good 10 minutes until she finally decided to go potty, and then come home.
After she came inside she decided to watch the rest of the downpour from the couch.

If You Give Me A Treat...

I finally got a good video of all the tricks our little May-May knows. She's such a smart cookie! Ander did most of the training... I was just her cheerleader. She caught on very fast!

For The Geek In All Of Us

I saw one of the sweetest movies today, it was sent to us by my mother-in-law. This is a movie for the geek inside you. A super sweet story of a geeky guy who runs into a super pretty girl on the train. He then asks all of his online buddies how to go about the situation and get up the guts to ask her out and they all throw in their two cents. I laughed, I cried, I was moved, I loved it. What a great little movie! But be warned, it's all in Japanese and has English subtitles, so if that's not your thing then you won't enjoy it. I would recommend it to anyone! Go and rent it!

I Think I'm In Love

I have found my new favorite cleaning and weight loss tool! Behold: The Sweepa Rubber Broom! I was trying to figure out what to do about all the black May-May hair all over our carpets when I remembered seeing a rubber broom somewhere on the interwebs. I found it and ordered it and I am so impressed! This thing can do it all. Tile, carpet, linoleum, hardwood, you name it. It also has a squeegee on the back! I can scrub my hard floors and my carpet, squeegee spills, and sweep up all the May-May hair! (And my hair) And not only does it clean, but you work up a heck of a sweat when sweeping hair from the carpet. I'm telling you, yes you, you need to buy this broom. It will be the best tool you'll ever own.
Embarrassing: This is the hairball I swept up from our bedroom. ONLY our bedroom. Yes, that's what was on our floor. Granted, a lot of my own hair is in that hairball too, but this just shows you the awesomeness of this broom.

Rub A Dub Dub

May-May has short hair, but she sheds like crazy. We found a nice little doggy shampoo at Wal-Mart that smelled super good, so we decided to start bathing her once a week to see if that helped. She's gotten better with her baths, but she doesn't love them.

At least she actually sat down in the water. She knows "sit" but usually the command is void when she's in the water.
Very ladylike...
All clean! She loves rolling around in the towels when she's finished with a bath. And for some reason she feels the need to run around the house as fast as she can once she's done. I think she secretly loves being clean. I know I love a clean puppy.

A Little Place to Call Her Own

Our good friends gave us their old bed-frame so we FINALLY got our bed up off the floor! Our queen size bed has pretty much been sitting on the floor these whole 2 years we've been married. I'm super excited to finally have a normal looking bedroom... who else is excited? May-May. She found a new place to hang out. We've started to let her sleep under us at night as well, she stays there all night. I don't really blame her, I'm sure it's nice and cool in this 100+ degree weather.

She's a teeny bit big to fit under there easily, so it takes her a minute.

Please forgive the flash on her eyes... without it it was too dark to see her.

This is my favorite May-May moment. She never lays like this flat out in the open, it's always under things, so she literally looks smashed. I hope she can fit under there forever, it's one of the funniest things to see.

It Takes Two

Today we were able to go and dog-sit for our friends' dog, Spock. He is one of the cutest little things I've ever seen in my life. Isn't he adorable? He and May-May have become quite the little duo. They literally run around the kitchen non-stop no matter how long we're there.
Playing Tug 'o' War...

trying to eat each other's faces...

fighting over a rubber sandwich...

And finally... peace and quiet!

I hope May-May and Spockers grow up to be super good buddies. I am definitely grateful to Spock because he tires May-May right out, and we all know that a tired dog is a well behaved dog!

I Know Why They Didn't Call Me On A Mission

I did something last night I never thought I was EVER going to do in my life...EVER. I went tracting with the Sister Missionaries. We went on splits so I went with Sister Harris and we actually went and just knocked on people's doors on a random street for about an hour and a half. Can I just say... I WAS TERRIFIED! I have never just walked up to a random person and started bearing my testimony. It was really hard for me. I can't believe I actually went. All the people we talked to were really nice, but it was insanely awkward. I just stood there beside Sis. Harris and didn't really say anything... But I did realize that if I did go on a mission, I could probably get tracting down if I had the practice and if I had enough time to really work out how to talk to people and know what to say. Buuuuuuuut I am not a missionary, nor do I have time in my life to really figure out how to randomly bear my testimony to people. I'm definitely working on it with my co-workers though. When I started working at Bradz people would ask me questions and I would mumble some stupid answer and try to walk away. My testimony has grown so much since moving to Austin, and so has my confidence in talking about the Gospel. It's pretty awesome if you think about it. I do enjoy living out in the "mission field" immensly.

Library Delinquent

After many months of checking book after book after book out at the library I finally forgot to return a couple. My library record is tarnished! I can't believe it! I always did so well! I now owe $6.50, my status is "Delinquent" and apparently I'm known to them as Susie Meino.

Costco ho!

We finally became Costco members and because of it I feel like our social status has been bumped up a rank. What a wonderland of amazing products! I feel like I'll never have to shop again! I felt like a little kid in a candy store when we walked in... so much goodness. Now I can finally buy those Ling Ling Potstickers anytime I want! We will actually be having them for dinner tonight. Good jams!

My only beef with Costco is this: no one pays attention to where they are going, which happens at any grocery store, but since Costco's shopping carts are so freakishly huge, there's hardly any way to move easily through all the people. Costco may be big, but it's still not big enough to hold all the people and their large and in charge shopping carts. Everyone stops every 5 feet because there's ANOTHER free sample being handed out. It hurt me on the inside to try and maneuver through everybody. Note to self: never go to Costco on a Saturday. I'm sure it's worse.

One of my favorite things about Costco (Other than the fact that it's got amazing amounts of fantastic products) is that we had lunch at the food court and two hot dogs, two 20 oz. drinks with one refill each only cost $3.25!!! Amazing. Costco, you sure haven't let me down.

Austin for almost a year!

Apparently the cool thing to do for married couples now is have a blog so EVERYONE knows what's going on in their lives. Well I say hizzah, because I feel extremely far from everyone so I'll make up for it with this! I'll be doing the actual blogging, I just got Ander's permission to be included in the blog, even though he'll never do anything with it. This blog is actually really late because we've now been in Austin for almost a whole year! This October will be the year mark for us and we're actually very proud. Austin is a fantastic city. We're very glad we chose to move here. It was definitely Heavenly Father's wish for us to come here, and who are we to question that?! Although it would be nice if He could knock the temperature down about 20 degrees or so since it's 105 outside during the day... but I'd rather have a freakishly hot summer and a mild winter than the opposite so you don't hear me complaining!
