Baby shoes

Charlotte wore real shoes for the very first time last Sunday, but incidentally she will NOT wear headbands anymore. She rips them right off of her head. *sigh* The shoes are cute, though. And the dress is courtesy of Grandma Janell!

The Meines come to Austin

A few weeks back, Ander's dad and his family came to see us in Austin, and we had a great time! It was the first time we'd had a big group of people come to visit since Charlotte was blessed, and it was lovely! We ate lots of yummy food, took a lot of pictures, and enjoyed ourselves very much. Thanks to Kelly, Ander's dad for the photos!

Ander took Hannah and Kelly out to Lake Bastrop to fish one morning, making them get up at five a.m. I love my husband, but I still don't know how he pulls himself from the comfort of our bed to go out on a body of water and reel in slimy, largemouthed fish so early in the mornings. Hannah and Kelly had a great time, though, despite the early rising.

A visit to the Lash Lounge was obviously a must while everyone was here. They finally got to see what I do in action at the place I've been working at for over four and a half years!

Shopping with Grandma Janell and Auntie Hannah wanted to take little miss Charlotte shopping at Target, (why not?) So unfortunately the men were dragged along in our wake as we delighted over teensy girl's clothes, and they took turns pushing the cart.

We at at a lot of delicious places while everyone was here, Cover 2 being one of our favorites. Their fried pickles are to die for.

We were able to finally visit Barton Springs, a natural spring in Austin that was COOOOOLD. Sixty-seven degrees all year round! But we spent a lot of time on the grass since someone had a medical emergency, although we have no clue what happened, and we had to wait for the ambulance to arrive before anyone could get back into the pool.

GPops has some serious selfie skills

We got some lovely photos after church on Sunday morning, and it was really nice to be surrounded by family during Sacrament Meeting for the first time since Charlotte's blessing.

The day everyone was supposed to fly home, I worked but Ander took the family to Bass Pro Shops up in Round Rock. If there is one place that sums up the word "America", it's the Bass Pro Shops. Ander got to show them his dream boat, the Nitro Z-7, along with the Fish Bowl, a full bowling alley inside the building complete with a restaurant. Charlotte isn't quite old enough to appreciate the aquarium they had either, but one of these days she will be.

The last day everyone was here, we went and had lunch at the Boathouse Grill, one of me and Ander's favorite places. Clearly the urge to take a bunch of selfies was too strong for GPops, and it was here that we said our goodbyes before I went back to work.

We had a great time with our Meine family, and we look forward to seeing you all next summer!!
