Transitioning...once again.

It's been so long since I blogged. I'm so sorry everyone. Sometimes I don't feel like my life is exciting enough to blog... and there's also the fact that I've been lazy lately. Working part-time made me really lazy. Why is that? Why is it that when I work full-time I have more energy? It's so strange to me.

ANYWAY:

Welcome to the Lash Lounge, where I have been employed as the newest eyelash extensionist. A darling little salon and boutique in North Austin, right around the corner from my home. I can't tell you how good it feels to only drive 10 minutes to get to work in the morning. I've been commuting 30 minutes to work every day since I moved here to Austin, so this is a great change. Not to mention a huge gas saver... it's $3.69 a gallon here. *shudder*

So I do lash extensions all day. My shoulder seized up today... kind of awkward. I need to remind myself to relax. I think I might get some of those cool magnifying glasses that doctors use sometimes, just so I don't hunch over my peeps. I have a great boss, and the Lash Lounge is at such a fantastic location, it's right smack dab in the middle of my ward boundaries!

I've also decided to rent out a room (found the perfect one... and it's close by too!) and do waxing a couple days a week. Technically I need to "open my own salon" in this little room, because it isn't at a salon. It's a small massage room that just hanging out at this random property. But it's perfect, and it's only $200 a month, which is the cheapest I've been able to find. So I'm taking the plunge! I'm going on my own (sort of...) at least with my waxing. I'm starting very, VERY small, and working mostly at the Lash Lounge, but I decided it was as good of a time as ever to rent a room.

And hallelujah! Ander found a new job for the summer! He started training today, and feels pretty good about it. He's going to be a pest control technician over the summer until he starts school in the fall. We'll both be working pretty full-time hours, but we really need the money. We're hoping to REALLY get on top of our finances this summer before Ander goes back to school. If all goes well, both of us will be making more money. But the funny thing is, now Ander has to drive a little bit further to work, and I work really close, so I'm now driving his truck!

We are both eternally grateful for these new job opportunities we've received. Heavenly Father is definitely watching over us. Once both of us start working for real, things should settle down and fall into a routine. I love routines. Three cheers for new jobs!
